Try our NEW eBook resource Axis360 on our website, www.marcelinelibrary.org. This is a shared collection with the Grand River Digital Library. Use your Marceline Library card and your account password to log in. Patrons must be in good standing to be able to download eBooks and audiobooks on their personal devices from their home or anytime they can access the internet. You will need to download the Axis360 app. Also check out the eBooks, audiobooks, and streaming videos on our Missouri Libraries 2 Go and the online collection of eBooks for children on Tumble Book. These are all available 24/7.
We held our annual Valentine’s Bake Sale on February 13th and 14th. Thank you to everyone who donated all the delicious goodies for the sale.
Mark your calendar! Marceline’s Spring City Wide Garage Sales will be the weekend of April 28th and 29th. This event is sponsored by our local library. If you would like to be on our map forms are available at the Marceline Library, City Hall, and on our Facebook Page and Website. Forms must be turned into the Library by 5pm on Monday, April 24th. To be on the map with description is just $10. We limit the words in the listing to 25, and more words will cost an additional $5.
We have been awarded a grant from the Missouri State Library for a much needed upgrade to our genealogy room. We will be purchasing a microfilm scanner. The reader will allow us to quickly find documents to view from microfilm. We will be able to save and send images and quickly zoom to enlarge small text and details of an image.
We also have been awarded the Summer Reading Grant from the Missouri State Library. Our theme this summer is “Build a Better World.” We have many fun things in mind for all ages. Come join us this summer and build a better world.
Plans are already underway for the 16th Annual Friends of Marceline Carnegie Library Quilt and Fabric Arts Show. This year’s theme is “Books and Quilts; Thread of Life”. It will be held on Saturday, October 7 at the Walsworth Community Building from 10am to 4pm. Along with the beautiful arts of work there will be demonstrations, presentations, vendors and a kid’s corner.
